Mariana AbreuInternational career & studying abroad advice
Bio

Originally from Brazil, I am currently based in London. I am a human rights lawyer and the Head of Wallbrook’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) & Human Rights practice. I have over 10 years of experience working on human rights, anti-corruption and environmental issues. Major projects I have worked on include tracking the links between agribusiness and deforestation of the Amazon rainforest at Global Witness and investigating the human rights impact of mining companies in Mozambique at Amnesty International. At Wallbrook, I support leading investors and businesses on ESG & human rights due diligence and supply chain tracing.

I began my international career by doing a Master's Degree in International Affairs at Sciences Po Paris. The university is the second best in the world for International Studies, according to QS World University Rankings. I was awarded the Eiffel Scholarship (merit-based).

Passionate about an international career, human rights and environmental issues, I had a challenging start as this is a very competitive field and not much information is available nor shared. This is the reason I created this profile. I'd love to meet people with a similar passion and to support them by sharing my advice, techniques and experience applying for international jobs and universities. I am open to answer all kinds of questions: from broader questions about life in different countries, to giving practical tips and reviewing documents, such as CVs and cover letters.
