Robert Hyres has over 30 years experience in the solid waste and recycling industry. He has developed and held responsibility for over 200 municipal contracts for both collection and landfill disposal services. These contracts provided service to 1.75 million households and over 30,000 businesses and represented more than $600,000,000 in annual revenues.

He is actively involved in leadership roles in local, statewide and national environmental organizations. He is the past Chairman and currently serves as an Advisory Board member of the Advisory Board of the Florida Center for Solid and Hazardous Waste Management (a Florida University System Study Center). He is the past Chairman, Vice Chairman and Board of Governors Representative for the Florida Chapter and member of the National Advisory Board of the National Waste & Recycling Association (NW&RA) and is currently a member of the Government Affairs Committee of the national branch of the NSWMA. He is a Board of Director’s Member for the SWANA Florida Chapter and past Chairman and current Advisory Board member of the Hinkley Center for Solid and Hazardous Waste Study.

Mr. Hyres is a recognized expert in the industry. He has worked in all phases including general management of large multiple operations, municipal marketing and government affairs. In his position as Vice-Chairman of the Florida chapter of NSWMA he has been responsible for the passage of key solid waste laws by the Florida Legislature. Mr. Hyres is also a U.S. Army Veteran.
